Rise in new Covid cases in Milton Keynes, but eighth day with no virus-linked deaths

The latest data released by the UK Government today (March 26), shows 27 new cases have been confirmed in Milton Keynes

This number is a slight rise from the 22 announced yesterday. The city has continued its streak of no Covid-linked deaths, reaching an eighth day without a Milton Keynes resident dying within 28 days of testing positive for the virus.

With over 20 cases confirmed two days in a row, MK's infection rate has risen from 47 to 49 cases per 100,000 people.

Across the UK the infection rate is higher at 57.7 cases per 100,000.

Overall, 6,187 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours in the UK, 70 new deaths were recorded.
