Sixteen new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Milton Keynes over the weekend

The weekend saw 16 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in MK.

This means, for the past three days, the city has averaged eight new cases a day.

Currently 1,140 people have been officially diagnosed in MK since the start of the pandemic, according to figures from Public Health England.

Nationally there were 5,693 confirmed yesterday (Sunday) and 17 deaths. This brings the UK death toll to 41,988.

Figures for the past 24 hours are due to be released later today.
