Special needs school in Milton Keynes reportedly forced to close due to Covid-19 infection

A special needs school in Milton Keynes has reportedly had to close for a deep-clean after a person tested positive for Covid-19.

According to another local media outlet, The Walnuts School's Hazeley Campus closed on Thursday (October 8).

Parents were reportedly told on Wednesday (October 7) the school had a confirmed case of coronavirus. A letter was sent out to the people who came into close contact with the infected person advising them to self-isolate.

However, the next day (Thursday), when those who were not affected and supposed to attend school arrived, they were reportedly immediately sent home as the building needed to be deep-cleaned.

According to the other media outlet, the school will be closed until Monday (October 12) and pupils who are self-isolating will return on Thursday, October 15.

Milton Keynes Council has been contacted for a comment.
