But throughout the Beds, Luton and MK region, 58,219 people under the age of 80 have now received their first dose of the vaccine.

Another 31,580 people over the age of 80 have also been vaccinated with the initial dose. That equates to 79.5 per cent of the total over 80s population in the area.

But only 655 people under 80 have received their second dose of the vaccine. In the over 80s category, 4,100 people have been given the second dose.

The cumulative amount of vaccines given in Beds, Luton and MK today stands at 96,554.
