Now, 88.4% of people aged over 80 in Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedfordshire have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The figure is up from 85% reported last week, in total, 35,115 over 80s have been jabbed in the region.

In Milton Keynes' region 25,926 people aged between 75-79 have received their first dose of the jab, this figure is up from 22,422 last week. The NHS is now inviting residents over 70 to book appointments for their first doses of the jab, even if they haven't received a letter.

This is because, 30.093 residents have received a vaccine protecting against the virus in Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedfordshire. Last week, 15,338 in the 70-74 group had received their first dose in the same catchment.

The latest figures show that 55,410 residents under 70 have been given their first jabs.

Second doses have been given to 4,150 residents over 80, 46 o those aged between 75-79 and 35 to those in the 70-74 category. The latest statistics show 1,225 under 70s have received second doses.

The cumulative amount of vaccines given in Beds, Luton and MK today stands at 152,000. Up from 120,833 reported last week.
