St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School, in Bletchley, sent out a letter to parents on Friday (December 11) saying that it does not have enough staff, due to the effects of Covid-19, to open safely.

The letter, signed by executive headteacher Robert Mundy, reads: "We have taken this decision for operational reasons because we do not have enough staff to open safely. This decision has not been taken lightly."

The closure comes days after a number of people in the Year 6 bubble came into close contact with a positive case.

The school is set to reopen in January 2021.

The school was contacted twice but refused to comment on both occasions.
