UPDATE: 344 people diagnosed with coronavirus in Milton Keynes

Today (April 17), Milton Keynes has recorded 13 new cases with a total of 344 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus.

The figures only cover lab-confirmed cases which have resulted from tests carried out at Milton Keynes University Hospital. There have also been 64 deaths at MK Hospital.

As of today, Buckinghamshire has a total of 565 cases, Central Bedfordshire has 335 cases, Luton has 428 and Bedford 268.

Members of the public are still being urged to remain indoors as much as possible to halt the spread of coronavirus.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

On Monday, March 23, the government announced tougher social distancing measures, with all outdoor activities prohibited except for food shopping, one daily exercise, treatment of a condition and any essential travel for work. And this week, the lockdown was extended by a further three weeks.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 108,692. The number of deaths has been recorded as 14,576, according to Public Health England.
