One new coronavirus death has been recorded at Milton Keynes Hospital Trust in the past 24 hours, the latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 100 people had died in hospital at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday (May 12).

That was an increase of one compared to Monday, when there were 99.

As of today (May 13), there was also one new case of coronavirus in Milton Keynes, bringing the total to 500.

In Buckinghamshire there were seven new cases, bringing the total to 898.

In Bedford, the number of cases of coronavirus now stands at 531. Central Bedfordshire has 565 and Luton still has 666 cases.

On Sunday (May 10), Boris Johnson said people should return to work if they can't do so from home - but they should try to avoid public transport for social distancing reasons. Some shops are also beginning to open with social distancing measures in place.

The Prime Minister also said there would now be no limit to the amount of exercise allowed.

The new figures are now recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 229,705. The number of deaths has been recorded as 33,186.
