Damion Brown is finding it so hard to breathe, even with an oxygen mask, that doctors may have to fit a breathing tube, says his wife Catherine.

"For those of you who think you're safe, that you're not vulnerable, that you won't be a risk to anyone, think again. This is my healthy, 38 year old, gym goer, non smoking husband," she said.

"His doctor analysed his chest xray and he now has to go to the ITU. They said they want to put him to sleep so they can give him a breathing tube.... He's worried he won't wake up."

Two days ago Damion filmed himself from his isolation room at MK hospital while still waiting for the results of his Covid-19 test.

Speaking through an oxygen mask and clearly struggling to get his breath, he urged people to stick to the rules and stay safe.

"A lot of people aren't taking this seriously and think this is a joke. this is no joke... I'm a fit person, I work out regularly. Did I expect this to be happening to me? No, I didn't.

"I'm seeing all this sh*t coming in about what's going on, panic buying and all that, and I just think what a bunch of selfish pr**ks... Everybody just needs to take this seriously and think about your families."

The family's nightmare started 12 days ago when Damion started showing symptoms. He and Catherine went into isolation at their home near Bletchley Park with their four-year-old daughter and Damion's 14-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

"We believe we have all had the virus in the house but that he was hit the hardest. He took a turn for the worse one day where he went white cold and clammy and seemed to not 'be present' so I phoned 999. That was on day seven," said Catherine, who is a school administrator.

"I am on day nine and starting to feel better. The kids and I have been relatively okay. But we never realised how awful this was until the last few days when Damion became so ill."

"He has no underlying health conditions that we know of. He's very active and healthy," said Catherine.

She published Damion's video on social media, together with an update of herself talking tearfully about how ill he is, in a bid to persuade the public to stop worrying about toilet rolls and panic buying and stay inside their homes.

"When you have a family member fighting like this, nothing else matters....Please stop going outside. Don't give this to somebody else. I don't know why it's not sinking in with people. somebody gave this to us or to me and I gave it to him. and they might have just given it to a hundred other people - and that's really scary," she sobbed.

"I just want everybody to pray and just to send positive healing our way, because this is horrible. I can't even go and visit him and he's scared. It's been the worst week of my life."
