Milton Keynes retirement village rated Outstanding after impressive inspection

ExtraCare Charitable Trust Lovat Fields Village - which has more than 300 people living in 259 apartments and bungalows - was inspecting for its level of care.

The CQC found people using the service benefited from safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led care and gave it an overall rating of Outstanding. It also rated Outstanding for whether its service was effective, responsive and well-led and Good for whether the service was safe and caring.

Deanna Westwood, CQC head of inspection for adult social care in the central region, said: “Our inspection team was very impressed by the level of support offered at ExtraCare Charitable Trust Lovat Fields Village.

People experienced extremely positive outcomes regarding their health and wellbeing. A well-being advisor was available to support people with anything that could affect people's health and wellbeing and action was taken quickly to address this.

“People were empowered to make choices about their health and how it should be monitored and managed.

“The provider and the management team were highly committed to ensuring people lived fulfilling lives and were protected from social isolation.”
