Historic Block G at Bletchley Park is being sold off for up to £6m in Milton Keynes

An historic building at Blechley Park is being sold off on the public market, with a guideline price of between £4m and £6m.
Block G is in a derelict state and has not been used since 1990, when tenants BT moved out.

Hide AdBut during the war, the buildings formed part of the government's Code and Cipher School, housing skilled workers who dealt with the decoding of Enigma and cipher messages from the Germans.


Among the occupants were SIXTA, the Army traffic analysis sections, which dealt with the direction of radio-intercept stations and analysis of the enemy radio traffic
Block G is being sold by Bletchley Park Capital Partners and is being marketed by JLL, who describe it as a "unique opportunity" for business use .
It has planning permission for employment uses only and cannot be converted to housing. Though it is on a conservation site, the buildings themselves are not listed.

Hide AdThe block was built in The property in 1943 as workspace for the increased number of staff at the Bletchley site. It comprises 32,709 sq ft of derelict buildings on a 2.73 acre site.


JLL spokesman Neville Pritchard said “The site presents a unique opportunity at the birthplace of early computing, at a location synonymous with intelligence and genius. It is likely to be of interest to commercial occupiers, especially companies at the forefront of information technology, communications, and defence industries or education uses, and a new building offers occupiers the prospect of a landmark facility”.
