New order banning alcohol confirmed at popular Milton Keynes beauty spot post-lockdown

Following this date no alcohol can be drank or brought onto the premises.

From March 31, it will become an offence to consume alcohol at Willen Lake in non-licenced areas or premises.

Those caught drinking in these areas could face a Fixed Penalty Notice or prosecution resulting in a maximum fine of £500.

The Parks Trust will be enforcing a Public Spaces Protection Order in partnership with Milton Keynes Council.

A Parks Trust official noted that 50% of waste was alcohol related at the weekend and also led to "huge increases in anti-social behaviour."

Fines will be reinvested by Milton Keynes Council in Community Safety Projects.
