The production by non-profit theatre group CLICK? runs until Saturday, so there is plenty of time to catch a performance.

The play is based on the Miramax film starring Julie Walters and Helen Mirren, of course.

The true story about members of the WI posing for a nude calendar to raise money for a sofa in the Oncology visitor’s room in the local hospital was a box office smash.

Several professional actors including Ashley Alymann will star in the performance, among a cast of staff and ex-students from Hertfordshire schools.

While CLICK usually focuses on running voluntary dance and drama workshops for local Mencap organisations, the group decided to launch the show Calendar Girls because it is a charity production in itself.

Founder of CLICK, Audrey, says “With my partner, David, having overcome Hodgkins Lymphoma last year, we chose this show and are completely behind its cause”.

Part of the group’s license fee goes to support Leukaemia Research, while the hire fees will go directly to support Camphill’s disabled residents and volunteers.

CLICK is also taking part in a bid to achieve a world record for the greatest number of productions of one show in the space of a year and a half.
