Competition: Win Joe Brown’s The Ukulele Album: Deluxe Edition’

Joe Brown: With guitar, not uke!
Joe Brown: With guitar, not uke!

Star, legend, MBE, rock icon, guitar hero, cheeky chappy...all words used to describe Joe Brown.

But did you know the musical ace was among the first musical artists to be banned by the BBC?
Fifty years ago, his interpretation of the George Formby track With My Little Ukulele in My Hand was considered too risque for airing!

Things have moved on somewhat since those times of course, as has Joe’s career, which has always been on an upward curve.

Since his teenage years, Joe has been a ukulele player, and his 2011 release - cunningly titled The Ukulele Album, has been repackaged and reissued - this time with newly recorded tracks and a bonus live CD.

The Ukulele Album Deluxe Edition features the uke on every song, given its full weight alongside raunchy electic and acoustic guitars, mandolins, banjo, lap steel and slide guitar and surprises galore...and we have copies up for grabs in this week’s competition.

To be in with a chance of winning a copy, simply tell us the name of Joe’s daughter, who had her own successful vocal career.

Is she called:

A Sam

B Sharon

C Sarah
