Milton Keynes Gallery has announced that international management and construction consultancy Gleeds has been appointed as cost manager of the previously announced refurbishment and expansion of the site.
The venue currently has 300sqm of exhibition space, but this new £10million phase will see the area double in size.
Music and performance areas, a cinema and art shows from eminent artists are all planned following the upgrade, which is expected to be complete by 2017 - the 50th anniversary of Milton Keynes.
“We are excited to be part of the renovation work for MK Gallery which will deliver a significant cultural benefit to the city,” said Martin Hall, director of Gleeds Cambridge.
“Our previous experience in supporting projects of this type means we are well prepared to manage the multi-disciplinary aspect of the appointment.”
