Sparkling comedy Fallen Angels, from the celebrated pen of Noel Coward, arrives at Milton Keynes Theatre on Tuesday, with a couple of celebrated performers taking the lead roles.
Jenny Seagrove and Sara Crowe are best friends Julia and Jane.
While their passionless husbands are away playing golf, a mutual long-ago-lover announces his intention to pay them an impromptu visit.
In a fluster, there seems to be only one thing for it – to reach for the Champagne and pop the cork!
As the liquid courage goes down rather well, tongues loosen, jealousies surface and the claws come out.
Well that gets lost along the way, as you might expect when too much of the wet stuff disappears down the hatch.
And when the golfing husbands arrive home unexpectedly early?
That’s when the evening hits its frenzied peak...
Jenny Seagrove is a prolific theatre actress, with too many shows to her impressive CV to mention.
But she shone on the small screen too – remember her role as barrister Jo Mills in the BAFTA winning Judge John Deed?
Sara Crowe has enjoyed an equally successful time of it – whether starring as the first bride in Four Weddings and a Funeral, or on the West End stages in a variety of Coward plays.
And we can’t really let this preview pass by without mentioning her role in those TV ads for Philadelphia soft cheese, now can we?
Fallen Angels will be showing at the theatre through to Saturday, March 22.
Tickets start at £15 and rise to a top price of £29.50.
