City silk painters are looking for new members to join their creative collective of enthusiastic hobby painters.
The Milton Keynes Guild of Silk Painters are currently looking forward to exhibiting their work at The Guild Festival on the Isle of Man in September and they hope their work will inspire others to get involved.
Members meet at designer Yvonne Bell’s studio on Glebe Road in Deanshanger and there is no fee for attending.
Yvonne said: “As a group we needed a challenge for the Guild Festival.
“We decided to do a joint picture and came up with the idea of a row of beach huts.
“Five of us created our own picture using a line drawing to keep some common features: the same beach hut shape, a consistent horizon line, a similar tide line and the beach huts sitting on the same ground level.
“We all worked separately without conferring to create something unique.”
The group meets every month to share their work, create pieces for craft fairs and learn new techniques.
Contact Yvonne on MK 623 474 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in joining.
