Newport Pagnell: Cromwell’s Garrison Town uncovers some of the forgotten history from when the area served as a military garrison during the Civil War.

Newport Pagnell was a Front Line stronghold during the seventeenth century troubles – the only time in history the nation was run as a republic.

Rumour among Newportonian’s suggests that Cromwell’s son - Oliver Jr - is buried in an unmarked grave in the grounds of St Peter & St Paul’s Church. Or could his final resting place be Sherington?

And will the exhibition shed light on that matter? Head to the first floor of the library and pop into Discover Milton Keynes to find out more.

Admission is free, and the show is open during normal library hours.

Cromwell’s Garrison Town shows until April 24.
