Money can’t buy tickets for a special fundraising concert in aid of Hula Animal Rescue this weekend.

Instead organisers are asking for a tin of dog or cat food in exchange for a seat at the concert by the Cisaro Trio.

The idea is to raise awareness of the essentials that are always required by the animal shelter, which is based in Aspley Guise.

Cisaro – a violin, oboe and piano trio – will be joined by a collective of music teachers and performers for the event which is being held at St Mary’s Church in Shenley Church End.

“There will be something for everyone, from well-known classical tunes to a bit of jazz and latin, humorous ditties to tango,” those putting on the show said.

“An added attraction during the interval will be stalls selling a cornucopia of high quality locally made crafts to tempt you whilst you enjoy a cuppa.”

Saturday’s show will begin at 7.30pm and parking will be available in Dudley Hill and on Shenley Road.

And if you are feeling generous, there will be a retiring collection post concert.
