ART IN THE PARK

Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, 1pm to 6pm on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday July 10,

Live music, visual arts, storytelling, debate, food and performance are promised at this year’s Art in the Park event.

The event is organised by the MK Islamic Arts Heritage and Culture group.

The live music stage will include singers, bands and dancers including the vibrant Rajastahani Heritage Band, while there will also be storytelling for children, art installations and plenty of chances for the family to take part and get creative.

A carnival in the form of a “Parade of Colours” will also feature.

GIANTS

Barn Gallery, Westbury Arts Centre, July 13 to 23

Festive Road will be exhibiting their creations and creatures. Many of the structures have been created by local school children and will have featured in the Walking with Giants parade – an annual carnival of large puppets and wonderful creations which Festival Road produces.

RUGBY IN MK

Discover Milton Keynes, until July 29

Last year, Living Archive MK began the process of researching club archives, collecting stories from fans, enthusiasts and players. The result is this exhibition, presenting the stories of those who have been involved in the sport in our area.

HULA ANIMAL RESCUE CHILDREN’S OPEN DAY

Glebe Farm, Aspley Guise, 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, July 10

It’s time for the Children’s Open Day, which includes a parade of HULA Dogs at 2.30pm, a police dog demonstration, bouncy castle, face painting, fun and games and a chance to meet the resident farm animals

Admission £2 for adults, with children admitted for free.

UPCYCLING WORKSHOP

MK Arts Centre, Great Linford, from Saturday

London-based designer Yinka Ilori has been working with schoolchildren from MK, helping them tell a story using unwanted vintage furniture. The upcycling workshops present themselves to the wider public with the exhibition Do Good Because of Tomorrow.
