A variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes, including chains and independent eateries, have signed up to the Eat Out to Help out scheme in Milton Keynes in order to offer customers half price dining on certain days throughout August.

What is the Eat Out to Help Out scheme?

The discount scheme is aimed at boosting the hospitality industry following lockdown, by offering customers who dine out from Monday to Wednesday in August a discount worth up to £10 per head.

For example, a meal that costs £20 will be reduced to £10, and a meal for a family of four that comes to £80 will instead cost £40. The discount includes children's meals, but not alcohol.

Any hospitality business that serves meals can sign up to the scheme, but the discount will only apply to meals eaten out, not takeaway food.

Businesses will need to register with the scheme before they are then able to offer the discount and claim back the money.
