In total, 394 branches with outdoor seating areas will welcome back customers on April 12, with opening hours from 9am to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

This includes two pubs in Milton Keynes the Wetherspoons at Bouverie Square on Midsummer Boulevard and The Moon Under Water on Avebury Boulevard.

The pubs will serve food using a reduced menu.

Payments are to be made using the Wetherspoons app and serving staff will be able to take orders from the tables.

The pubs won't be using a booking system.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: "We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs."

As part of stage two of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's roadmap out of lockdown restaurants and pubs will be able to partially open serving food and drinks, outdoors only, from April 12. Non-essential businesses will also have the ability to reopen from that date provided the government remains on track with the vaccine rollout and new Covid cases don't skyrocket in the UK.
