Green fingered event at Woburn Abbey

However handy with a trowel you may or may not be, The Gardener’s Garden Show at Woburn Abbey invites you to learn new gardening skills, this weekend.

The show returns to the beautiful setting of the Abbey, with celebrity gardening experts Pippa Greenwood and Diarmuid Gavin attending on both days to give talks and advice and run a Woburn’s Gardener’s Question Time at the end of each day.

Some of the best UK nurseries will be showcasing top quality plants, including RHS Medal Winners Crug Farm Plants, Chris Cooke Plants and Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants.

Whether you have a small courtyard space, a window box or a large country garden, there will be something on offer to help hone your green-fingered skills and cultivate your very own outdoor haven.

As if that is not enough, as part of the ongoing restoration of Woburn Abbey’s historic gardens, Her Grace, the Duchess of Bedford will be opening two new areas at the show.

On day one she will open the second phase of the Children’s Garden, and on the second day the new Cone House will be opened – both based on original plans from 1810.

To make the most of the retail experience provided by the show, Woburn Abbey Gardens will run a ‘plant creche’ so that visitors can leave the plants they purchase somewhere safe while they continue to look around.

Once they are ready to leave, local scouts will help visitors carry their plants back to their cars (small donations will be gratefully received).

The show will take place from 10am until 5pm across the two days.
