But music fiends have a new friend on the block, with the arrival of Foundation Live Music & Events.

The three way partnership brings together local musicians and studio owners Paul Ford and Drew Omrod with former Pitz promoter Paul Rivers.

In a statement, they said: “...we hope to carry on the good work already done building up the venue and the music scene, using our collective experience and contacts to keep things fresh, exciting and welcoming for the music fans of Milton Keynes.”

They’ve certainly delivered the goods for this first weekend of sounds under the new name, launching tomorrow evening with one of the areas hottest musical properties.

Hacktivist have spent the past 12 months tantalisingly teasing the industry and forging one heck of a fan base with their genre crossing groove, attitude and brutality, fusing monstrous metal riffage with the grit of grime.

Live shows were revered, and when they released their debut single last September, Unlike Us raised the temperature on an already hot proposition.

Plenty has happened since then – not least a management deal with the same team behind Enter Shikari, who they’ll soon be out on tour with, and they’ve had more than half a million hits on YouTube.

Oh, and they’ve confirmed for this year’s Download Festival too.

If there is any justice, 2013 will be the year Hacktivist explode.

But this Friday night, the boys bring their sounds home, headlining the inaugural Foundation night.

Splash six quid (in advance £7 on the doors) and wish our boys well.

But that’s not your lot this weekend – on Saturday night, In Colour take over.

The band is the baby of former SikTh guitarist Dan Weller and also features one time TesseracT front man Dan Tompkins.

Support will come from the progressive metal concoction Voice From The Fuselage, which features current TesseracT voice-box Ashe O’ Hara.

Dead Set Disorder are also lining up, and tickets are £7 on the doors.

And forget Sunday’s as the day of rest: Inlak’esh, Nick Fisher, Jet Lagged Jeff and the Poor Boys and Auralia Sky and Dan O’Shea will be holding Sunday Service.
