Students at Milton Keynes College are set to enter into a beautiful relationship with a nearby spa.
The college is teaming up with health and beauty experts at The Day Spa at Whittlebury Hall.
The launch of the new partnership was celebrated at an event on Wednesday (May 8) where it was explained how students will reap huge benefits in terms of gaining knowledge and experience at the leading end of the industry.
The Day Spa was named Best in the Midlands at The Good Spa Guide Awards 2012 and this is the first time the spa side of the business has forged this kind of relationship with a college.
Head of Hair and Beauty, Debbie Houghton, said: “We are very committed to providing students with employment possibilities once they have completed their courses and a partnership with such a well-recognised and respected business as Whittlebury Hall Day Spa gives us just that.
“Once again we are aiming to bridge the gap between education and business. The training and experience our students will receive will be quite invaluable.”
Spa Manager at The Day Spa, Lindsey Gales added: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Milton Keynes College to further highlight industry best practice and standards within higher education, and to provide a platform for qualified therapists to progress their career within the industry at The Day Spa at Whittlebury Hall.”
Milton Keynes College student, Helen Stockwell said: “The skills I have gained from the college have helped me to prepare for my apprenticeship.
“Whittlebury Hall has given me the opportunity to develop as a multi skilled beauty therapist. This has been such a great experience for me.”
