Housing demand soars in Milton Keynes at L&Q's Saxon Reach development

Milton Keynes has led the commuter belt property boom over the past month

Housing demand has soared in Milton Keynes at L&Q's Saxon Reach development following the stamp duty holiday announcement.

While UK-wide enquiries for homes costing between the £400,000 to £500,000 have increased by 49 per cent, the thriving town of Milton Keynes has recorded a 136 per cent increase in buyer enquiries, according to Rightmove – demonstrating the growing popularity of the town.

The stamp duty cut has led to a surge in enquiries and sales at L&Q’s Saxon Reach development, a collection of 225 new homes just outside of Milton Keynes.

Further helping house hunters secure their dream home in the popular hotspot, L&Q has a number of incentives available on individual plots at the development, contributing toward the significant influx of viewings and reservations made at Saxon Reach.

These incentives are giving potential buyers the rare opportunity to save more than £15,000 when purchasing a four-bedroom home, with a reduced reservation cost of £99, fully furnished homes available and legal fees, removal costs and 2 years of service charged paid by L&Q.

Christine Osborne, sales and customer services director (Counties) at L&Q, said: “At L&Q, our priority is helping buyers purchase their dream home at an affordable price, from first time buyers and second steppers to growing families and downsizers.

"The stamp duty holiday is an extremely important initiative, especially at this time, and will allow thousands of buyers to take their next step on the property ladder.

"With Help to Buy also available at Saxon Reach, buyers can look to take advantage of the scheme before the new changes are introduced next April.

"It’s no surprise to see interest levels in Milton Keynes soaring above the national average; with more and more buyers searching to move out to a larger home in the countryside whilst enjoying a swift journey into the town centre and central London, Saxon Reach is perfectly positioned for a wide range of buyers.”

Saxon Reach will ultimately deliver 225 high quality homes in the form of one to five bedroom homes available through Shared Ownership and Help to Buy.
