Most of us are lucky enough to go about our day to day business with decent health.

Perhaps the odd ache or pain, but really, ‘can’t complain’.

But how would you cope if faced with an inoperable brain tumour?

That was the harrowing diagnosis presented to Sam John, and his family, while he was only nine years old.

Now 16, the tumour has become more active and dangerous, but treatment in the UK carries serious risks.

Only proton beam therapy in the US could give Sam the chance of a normal future.

The treatment carries a £200,000 price tag and the family have only a few months to raise the funds.

It’s a truly terrible situation, but you can help make a difference.
