Mascot Race and Fun Day to roll out this weekend

If you hated Sports Day at school, struggled to get over the hurdles and panicked at the thought of the egg and sppon race, imagine doing the tasks while dressed as Dons Mascot Mooey!

The annual Mascot Olympics is taking place in the Theatre District on Saturday.

It’s a chance for you to gather the brood and make tracks to the central location to watch the Mascots show their ability at welly wanging and the egg and spoon hurdles...combined.

That means twice the agony for participants, and twice the giggles for onlookers!

Kids are being sought to help score goals against the mascots at 2pm, and all-weather covered tiered stadium seating means that come rain or shine, spectators can enjoy the show, without that nasty damp feeling!

The Mascots Olympics is just one part of the Theatre District delight being cooked up for you though.

The Big Family Fun Day also boasts a Chain Reaction street market, with everything for sale hand made and sold off the back of bicycles...

Some say it’ll be wheely great!

Live music and entertainment will come from Reece Chown, Jamie Stimpson and Mister V, On Point Contemporary Dance Company, Hannah Faulkner and the Kettle Band, and the Paramount Parker Academy will provide a display and offer a free workshop.

Add in the traditional fun fair and lots more stalls and you are ready to go.

The question is, will the mascots be?!
