Milton Keynes residents can order care packages ahead of biggest gaming day of the year

Snacking company Flipz are partnering with robotic home delivery service Starship to send £5 'consol-ation' packages to keen gamers this weekend.

Those settling in for a session on the latest Call of Duty, FIFA 2021, or any number of other Christmas purchases, can receive snacks and a £50 gaming voucher for £5.

To confuse gamers who might believe they've teleported into the type of futuristic dystopian world, modern video games are often set in. These packages will be sent via a contactless, self-driving robot delivery service.

The limited-edition Flipz package will be available for players in Starship’s Milton Keynes delivery zone on Consoling Sunday, January 24.

All gamers need to do is log onto the Starship app, select Flipz as the food delivery choice and carry on playing until their snacks arrive.

Overall, the packages containing: Flipz Cookies & Cream Pretzels, gaming glasses, and a £50 gaming voucher, is valued at £70.

The number of people playing video games this Sunday, expected to peak as nearly half of the country’s gamers play on a Sunday (45%), especially with bitterly cold weather projected this weekend. Given the year-high appetite for gaming, this Sunday has been dubbed 'Consol-ing Sunday'.

Research from Flipz, indicates more and more Brits are turning to video games as a form of escapism, amidst a third national lockdown, bad weather and dark evenings.

The latest research suggests over three quarters of gamers (79%) believe January is an ideal time to dust off the controller and headset and play videogames. Flipz research found that nearly half (47%) of the gamers they interviewed use the format as an escape from everyday reality.
