Motus in movement

Motus Dance Festival returns this Sunday – a one-day spectacular that promises to bathe Central Milton Keynes in movement delight.

And if you saw what happened at last year’s event, you’ll know these guys and gals are nothing short of spectacular.

Professional companies making tracks here for the event include ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, Ceyda Tanc Dance and Inverted Company.

Schools are stepping out too, with Denbigh and The Grove both working on commissions with professional choreographers.

Organisers say it is a fun and cultural afternoon, and the perfect way to wrap up the Half Term holiday, and we aren’t about to disagree with them.

A free to attend, family friendly event?

What’s not to like?

“The premise of this year’s festival is to support and commission dance artists and companies to come and make work here in Milton Keynes,” explained Helen Parlor, artistic director with Motus.

“Instead of presenting pre-existing work, companies have selected sites around Campbell Park and MK Gallery to interact with, in order to create original and vibrant performances,” she added.

There are two opportunities to enjoy the action.

Meet at MK Gallery at 3pm or 5.30pm from where the dancers will move to Campbell Park ready for the finale at MK Rose.
