'Urban Battlefields', a new outdoor laser tag centre, opens its doors for the first time next weekend.

Starting on April 24, the mission statement for the Milton Keynes business is to get children off their games consoles and back enjoying activities that force them to exercise outside.

The courses are suitable for children aged eight and above, with parents and grandparents also encouraged to get involved.

The business is accepting bookings now and is based at Coates Grounds in Thornton Lane.

Team activities include classics like capture the flag, whilst would-be laser cadettes can gun for glory in total elimination games.

Mark Webb and Nick Hood, the brains behind the scheme have always wanted to run their own form of activity centre. Now with restrictions lifted they can finally see their vision fulfilled.

Trying to start a business during a tumultuous pandemic, meant the pair had to bide their time and deal with logistics without furlough or self-employment relief from the government.

Despite these challenges, Urban Battlefields is promising the latest high-tech equipment and challenging maps for gunners of all ages and sizes to try and conquer.
