The annual Oxjam Takeover - raising funds for Oxfam - is coming to Milton Keynes for the first time this year.
Since the event launch back in 2006, more than two million pounds has been raised to support Oxfam’s vital work.
An array of artists will come together for a big fundraising bonanza on October 19, utilizing many venues across the new city.
“We know that Milton Keynes has a lot to offer in terms of a vibrant local music scene and we hope that our event will bring together the community to raise money for a great cause,” said Oxjam Co-ordinator Rebecca Corderoy.
This Saturday, organisers will host a launch event in Newport Pagnell, at The Rose and Crown Public House and music venue The Watershed.
From 2pm, the Rose and Castle will host a reggae DJ, barbecue and lots of family-friendly activities.
Then, from 7pm The Watershed will host live music from The Cracked, LockDownBand, Ricky Menzies and The Storytellers.
Tickets for the gig are a fiver, and also grants free entry to The Rose and Crown.
They can be purchased on-line at www.wegottickets.com/event/233236
