Breaks, beats and basslines will break free on Saturday night, when the Beatcheck brand takes control of The Craufurd Arms, writes Leisure editor Sammy Jones.

And by their own admission, they are ‘showing a blatant disregard for their carbon footprint – flying acts in from around the globe.’

This time Ugly Duckling are swooping in direct from Long Beach, California.

Since forming in 1993, UD have stayed true to the classic old school hip hop vibe.

Touring buddies Jurassic 5 might be absent for this date, but UD will command nonetheless.

“Their live shows are renowned for having more bounce than a 12 year-old’s pogo party,” says the Beatcheck Monkey.

Fingathing, who helpfully call themselves ‘the most unique band in the universe’ promise a stage set-up akin to something from NASA.

MK’s own Spatts – a founding member of Criminal Minds – will be using the event to launch his new album, Works of Friction.

Joining him in the live will be Uncle Mic Nitro and DJ Tones.

“2015 is about to get some next level beats,” the Monkey added.
