Woburn Abbey is marking the centenary of The Great War with the launch of a new exhibition, Valiant Hearts.
The display will demonstrate the roles played by the 11th Duke and Duchess, the Abbey and the people from the area during the times of conflict.
Visitors will be able to explore a recreation of the training garrison paid for by the Duke, and read some of the poignant letters from commanding officers, that allowed His Grace to keep up to speed on the progess of the local soldiers.
The Duchess, above, converted parts of the Abbey, helping to create one of the most advanced hospitals of the time, which cared for close to two and a half thousand injured men before it closed in March of 1920.
The remarkable exhibition will open to the public on Friday, and run through to September 28.
