Say it with words

‘As the year casts off her ermine gown in favour of a more verdant, strapless little number, and puts the woolly tights back in the wardrobe in anticipation of days lengthening, sap rising and hares leaping, what better way to welcome in the new season than with an evening of open mic music and poetry with special guests?’

That is your rather beautifully worded invitation to attend Tuesday’s Scribal Gathering in the centre of Stony Stratford.

If you choose to take up the offer, admission is free and you need to make your way to The Crown watering-hole in the Market Square, for 7.30pm.

This time your headliners will be The Screaming House Madrigals and Poeterry, and the Open Mic session welcomes one and all to share music and words before the ‘often bemused, but surprisingly tolerant’ audience.

The Post-it Note Poetry competition will also erm, stick around on the night...
