Loughton Village is expecting an influx of visitors in the coming week – and not all of them human.
The second biennial Scarecrow Trail launches on Saturday, with more than 60 of the dried out folks showing up for the duration of the bash.
This time, each scarecrow will be representing a book, film or play.
Trail guides can be purchased at All Saints’ Church during the weekend (10am-5pm) and between Midday and 2pm on Wednesday.
The guide comes with a quiz for the kids and a slip enabling you to vote for your favourite straw folk.
> Next Saturday (July 11) the Trail will come to a close with a Scarecrows’ Supper.
A Gift and Promises auction will also be held and monies raised at the event will be going to support the aforementioned 13th century church.
