Want to achieve a natural look with your make-up but don’t know how? Our spring beauty shoot, photographed in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, showcases clear and simple make-up set against a backdrop of beautiful flowers . .
A make-up look that seems to grace the summer catwalks year after year is the under-stated, yet luminous glow we all want to achieve. Make-up that steers clear of the drama and shows our beauty in its simplest form. Think beautiful, healthy, sun-kissed skin accentuated with pretty pinks and peach tones.
Make-up artist Joanne Tromans talks us through how we can recreate these looks at home.
She says: “Create this look by generously applying Benefit’s highbeam to the cheek bones, the stem of your nose and middle of your forehead, blending well with your finger tips. For a supercharged glow, try applying a powder highlighter over the top - my favourite is MAC mineralize skinfinish. Complete the look with a peach blusher such as MAC in style.”
For a bold evening look, dip into these blue hues which have been showcased in all forms on the 2016 spring/summer catwalks from superhero inspired masks at Chanel to subtle blue glitter liner at Dries Van Noton. Many designers favoured washes of shimmery baby blue and turquoise on the lids, which is an easy achievable look to create yourself at home. This trend is all about accentuating the eye, giving it a fun kick of colour without it being too complicated. Or, if you’re not quite confident enough to wear this shade in all its glory, try a simple blue line on top of the lash line.
“Try Makeup Forever aqua liner in diamond or turquoise. Urban Decay also has a wide array of colours, including electric blue and chaos, so you’ll be able to choose one suited to you. These are easy to apply and last all day. Perfect for being ‘melt-free’ on those hot summer days.”
Have a look at Jo’s amazing take on this exciting blue-eyed girl trend. Jo has teamed a wash of turquoise blue on the eyelids with bronzed glowing skin.
“I used eyeshadow from Urban Decay in shattered. Have a play and find your blue cool.”
