THE Slackers bring a slice of Brooklyn finery to Wolverton on Saturday night when they cut loose in the backroom of The Craufurd with an unrelenting tirade of fusion – ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, soul, rock and jazz.
The sextet don’t mess around when it comes to bringing the goods, live or on record.
In a career that has now reached beyond 20 years, the collective has put out plenty of live and compilation discs alongside a firm body of studio releases, 13 in all, with The Radio being the last released, in 2011.
Joining the Noo Yawkers for the roar, you’ll be able to check Sub Project 151, with more to be announced.
Tickets are on sale now at £12, and doors open at 7.30pm.
You know that sweaty smell of a bustling venue that sums up gigs and good times?
The Craufurd will likely smell just like that on Saturday night.
> If you fancy giving your grey matter a work out, the pub hosts its Big Fat Quiz tonight, from 7.30pm, and Wednesday night is Open Mic Night.
Pop in, play, or listen to others making the sounds.
