Marcus Bonfanti will be live at The Craufurd Arms on Friday evening.
Marcus – who also fronts the monthly Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion sessions– has worked with luminaries including Robert Cray, Chuck Berry, Beth Hart, John Mayall and Cream legends Ginger Baker and the late, great Jack Bruce.
The guitar whizz – ‘with a voice like sand and glue, a punchy guitar technique and stockpile of careworn tales’ – will be bar-side after 8pm.
Alt-rock-goth quintet The Acid Ballet will be live at the haunt on Saturday night.
Listen out for the single The Serpent Waits from the band and its ‘unique brand of burning erotic magic’ (their words, not ours).
Support is coming from some secret special guests and Our Perfect Disorder, with DJ Acid Bitch keeping things lively between bands. Tickets are a fiver, doors at 7.30pm.
Fifteen years since the release of their breakthrough album A Place in the Sun, and Orange County rock mob Lit are revisiting the opus in earnest – touring the UK playing the album in its entirety.
They did the same on a string of dates in the UK earlier this year which went down a storm, so this second bout was inevitable.
But this isn’t just about reliving old glories, though there are plenty of those – My Own Worst Enemy sat atop the US Modern Rock Chart for three months, and was the biggest selling modern rock track of the year in 1999, and they are multi-platinum sellers.
The band will quite probably shed a few numbers from their 2012 release, The View From the Bottom too...
The tour draws to a close on Sunday, and where better than here in MK, at The Craufurd Arms?
Support is coming from Army of Freshmen and Hey Vanity.
Tickets are £17.50 in advance.
> Last week, The Animals played live at The Stables, with special guest Steve Cropper.
The good news for those of you who went, loved it and want to relive it, and those who are kicking themselves at missing out, is that the band are live and (almost) local again this Sunday – they play live at The Corn Exchange in Bedford.
