A MINIATURE Dachshund who was “shaken like a rag doll” by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier was left fighting for survival on a life support machine.
Tiny Rolo suffered a punctured liver, torn bladder and multiple cuts and bruises after the bigger dog rushed out of a garden to attack him.
The Dachshund was being walked by owner Harry Phelps in New Bradwell when the drama happened on Sunday.
“A passer-by rushed over, grabbed the Staffie and literally threw him back into the garden. If it hadn’t been for his bravery Rolo would be dead,” said Harry’s wife Sadie, who manages Bradwell Co-op.
The couple, along with other fearful dog owners, are now urging the police and RSPCA to take action against the Staffie owner. Meanwhile Rolo is on the road to recovery – with a £2,000 vet’s bill.
