999 calls made over mannequin’s mistaken identity

A mannequin prompted 999 calls when it was seen floating in a Bletchley lake - after fears that it could be mistaken for a body.

The dummy, dressed in high-visibility clothing, was pulled from Mount Farm Lake by firefighters on Friday.

It was pictured (above) holding what appears to be a gun,

Crews from Bletchley and Newport Pagnell said the mannequin had “caused a stir”.

A spokesman for Bucks Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters removed a mannequin from Mount Farm Lake, Bramley Road, Bletchley, after concern was raised that it might be mistaken by passers-by for a person in difficulty.”
