A birthday celebration fit for a Queen in Milton Keynes

The Queen's birthday was celebrated in fitting style by members of the Wolverton Senior Citizen's Coffee Club yesterday.

There might not have been any corgis on hand, but royalty was present - group chairman Bernard Dackcombe crowned long serving committee member Betty West as Queen for the day.

A special letter from Buckingham Palace - acknowledging Wolverton’s links with the Royal Train - was read out too, which showed Her Majesty’s appreciation for club members who have in the past staffed the train.

The Coffee Club wrapped up their event by dancing the Lambeth Walk and singing Hope and Glory.

Whether in Windsor or Wolverton, April 21 proved to be quite the celebration for everyone!
