Fitness enthusiasts helped to raise £1,005 for Sport Relief with a charity ‘plankathon’ at Campbell Park on Saturday (March 21).
The event, run by British Military Fitness (BMF), challenge and invited members and non-members to try and hold the plank position for five minutes.
The money raised will go towards vulnerable people around the UK and the world’s poorest countries in projects supported by the charity.
Pete Gill, BMF park manager for Campbell Park, said: “Sport Relief is a fantastic initiative and something we are very enthusiastic about. The planking challenge was hard but some of us managed to hold out for the whole five minutes.
“I hope the money raised can make a little difference to all the good causes Sport Relief supports.”
