Age UK Milton Keynes is centre:mk's Charity of the Year

Processing through throngs of excited children and parents, the orange t-shirt-clad volunteers complemented the orange finery of Sarah the Pantomime Dame’s extravagant costume! Cast members from MK Theatre’s production of Dick Whittington hitched a ride on Santa’s electric sleigh, sprinkling a dash of showbiz stardust on the occasion.

“Over the past 25 years we have raised more than £1 million and worked with over 150 local charities,” said Kevin Duffy, centre director.

“By working with one named charity every year on a programme of high impact activities we will be able to help them increase their profile and ultimately raise far more money. The chosen charity for 2016/2017 is Age UK Milton Keynes.”

Jane Palmer chief executive of Age UK Milton Keynes said: “We are hugely grateful for the support of centre:mk. As a local charity every penny raised from the Wishing Well in the Middleton Hall Christmas display and from activities throughout the year will be spent locally, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation amongst older people.”
