Former Liverpool footballer Alan Kennedy was the guest speaker at the Sporting Lunch Club on Friday.
The event, held at the Jury’s Inn, was organised to help raise funds for SportsAid and more than 160 city businessmen came along to show their support with more than £1,500 raised.
Alan entertained guests with tales of his footballing days as part of the famous Liverpool team of the 70s and early 80s.
SportsAid awards were then presented to disabled target shooter, Rebecca Porte and javelin thrower, Freddie Curtis.
A total of £1,515 was raised on the day which will now be donated to SportsAid.
