Shoppers in Wolverton are gearing up for a new Aldi store on Stratford Road.Nearly 370 comments backing the application have been sent directly to the development team or posted online following the distribution of a publicity leaflet on the proposals.

ALDI has now submitted a planning application for the 1,000 square metre store to Milton Keynes Council.

Phillip Warner, Property Director at ALDI, said: “The local response to our Wolverton proposals has been fantastic. People have backed the proposals in their hundreds and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has posted their views directly to us or online.

“The message is clear – local residents want us in Wolverton.”

Subject to achieving planning permission ALDI will move quickly to redevelop the site and are targeting an opening date of Easter 2015. If the store is granted planning permission, ALDI will start recruiting for the new store later in the year.
