Alicia's close shave means she is a cut above the rest!

When 12-year-old Alicia Lincoln had her beautiful mousy brown locks shaved for charity last week, it was no rash decision.

Kind-hearted Alicia, a pupil at Radcliffe School first came up with the idea when she was just seven-years-old.

“My own hair had given me so much confidence.

“I wanted to give my hair to another child to give them confidence,” she said.

Alicia has raised in excess of £550 for the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children with cancer, and money is still coming in.

But since her wonderful gesture Alicia has sadly had to endure nasty comments about her new look.

It’s difficult to see how people are judged for looking a little different,” says mum Charlie, “But it has given her a greater understanding of what sick children have to go through.

“Alicia is a really bright, clever little girl and I am so proud of what she has achieved,” she added.
