Amazon delivers safari experience

Buckingham-based Alec’s Angels, set up in 2012 to help children and families with cancer, is taking four families to Woburn Safari Park, thanks to a £1,500 donation from Amazon in Milton Keynes.

The VIP experiences for the families have been funded by a donation to Alec’s Angels from the team at Amazon’s 550,000sq ft site in Marston Gate, as part of the fulfilment centre’s local community support programme.

The first families – the Selleck family from Milton Keynes and the Milligens from High Wycombe – took part in their tours last weekend.

General manager of the MK fulfilment centre, Claudio Innocente, said: “We asked the team at Amazon in Milton Keynes to select the latest local charity for support and Alec’s Angels was a big favourite. It’s a brilliant charity doing important work for our local families and we’re pleased to be able to offer this support.”

Brian Jarvis, who founded Alec’s Angels, said: “We wouldn’t be able to support local families without the help of businesses like Amazon

“We’re really grateful to Claudio and his team for the donation.

“The families visiting Woburn Safari Park will have a wonderful time and that’s what Alec’s Angels is all about – helping children with cancer smile.”

Alec’s Angels was set up in memory of Brian’s son, Alec, who sadly passed away from a brain tumour in 2011.
