Amazon Milton Keynes helps buy IT equipment for primary school

Pupils at a primary school are over the moon after receiving a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Milton Keynes.

The money went towards supporting Swallowfield Lower School’s IT department with some new equipment. To celebrate the donation, members of the Amazon team visited the Woburn Sands school to find out how the pupils were getting on with their new devices.

Scott Wharton, general manager at Amazon Milton Keynes, said: “We had a fantastic time visiting Swallowfield Lower School and it was clear to see why all the pupils and teachers love their school so much. At Amazon we think it’s so important for children to develop their digital skills and creativity, so it was great to see the pupils enjoying their new devices.”

Greg McGill, deputy head teacher at Swallowfield Lower School, added: “We loved giving the Amazon team a sense of what it’s like to be at Swallowfield Lower School. We hope they enjoyed the visit as much as we enjoyed showing them around! We’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Scott and the team for their generous donation. The money will go a long way in helping us to encourage our pupils to enjoy learning.”

The donation forms part of the ‘Amazon in the Community’ programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
