A Walton High pupil has won the local final of a national cooking competition.
Sumit Chamdal reigned supreme with his menu featuring chicken ballotine with asparagus and mushrooms, in a FutureChef challenge held at Bedford College.
The 16-year-old has now been teamed up with a local industry chef mentor to work on his entry prior to competing in the regional heat.
If he produces a delectable dish there, he may end up in the national final in March 2016.
FutureChef is a culinary competition designed to help young people aged 12 to 16 learn the lifeskill of cooking and healthy eating through a series of challenges.
